Istanbul was on my wish list for some time now so when we got it as a bonus trip on our way to Dubai I was super excited! We got 12 hours on both ways. We started by visiting the Blue mosque and it is just as beautiful and mighty as expected. Because we landed pretty late it was already sunset chasing time. We read on the internet about some secret rooftop with a breath taking view so we went in search of it. We found the place quite quickly but unfortunately the rooftop is now closed… We then rushed back to the blue mosque for terrace sunset and it was just incredible. Than road lead us to the underwater train Marmaray to the Asian side to see the little church island at night – Maiden tower. And that was it for the first stop.

Going back home we had another stop in Istanbul and luckily we landed very early this time. Fist we went to Dolmabache palace and the sky was really nice, the day was just starting and the sun was breaking through the clouds. After that we caught some mystical foggy views on Galata tower, it is definitely worth to see it. We then walked across the bridge to old European part of Istanbul. That part of a city is really nice and worth the walk to Egyptian spice bazar with a stop for Turkish coffe and tea. Soon it was time for Basilica cisterna and Haggia Sofia, another very might and nice mosque with interesting history. Our last stop was the Grand bazar another amazing thing to see in Istanbul and we bought some souvenirs. It was such a nice trip and definitely too short.
